Information Communication Technology
The ICT department seeks to ensure that all pupils develop a proficient capability in ICT. Pupils should be able to use ICT confidently in all subjects, and be prepared for life after school in a world that is increasingly reliant on ICT. All teaching staff are qualified within ICT to a high level, and are motivated members of the school. The school is also supported by excellent and motivated technicians.
Key Stage 3
In KS3 we are responsible for developing basic ICT capability. We teach basic software skills, so that pupils are confident in using different software packages. These include:

- Network Use
- E - Safety
- Using the Internet
- Photo Editing
- Movie Making
- Presentation Skills
- Spreadsheets
In Year 8 we study the following:
- Web Design
- Movie Making
- Ict Projects
- Spreadsheets and Data Handling
- A Multimedia project
In year 9 we do concentrate on project skills and also do a module on game design.
Key Stage 4
Functional ICT
We are ensuring that every pupil in school has a functional use of ICT, through cross curricular ICT, and discreet opportunities.
Btec ICT
Pupils have the option to study ICT more in depth at KS4, and this allows them to study the following units, which will lead to either a Btec Certificate in ICT, or a Btec Diploma in ICT:
- Using ICT to present information
- ICT Systems
- ICT Projects
- Web design
- Spreadsheets
- Databases
- ICT Graphics
ICT Clubs
We run a variety of clubs, both after school and at lunchtimes, both for study and for fun. Times are published in every classroom and in the activities section of this website.
